SHREE VIMALESHWAR TEMPLE RIVONA 


Vimaleshwar temple is situated in Rivona. Goa The presiding deity of this Temple is Shree Vimaleshwara which is another name of Lord SHIVA



  

This Place is situated in beautiful nature and this place is around 65km from capital city Panjim. It is located on boarder between modern day Quepem and sanguem talukas in the southern half of  state of Goa.The village of Rivona provides an insightfull portrait of treditional Goan Village.we can feel that positive vibes and beautifull greenary around the temple.


The Main Temple in Rivona is Shree Vimaleshwar Temple.The patrons of the temples are known as Mahajana. The mahajanas of this temples are KOUSHIKA GOTRA.

KOUSHIKA GOTRAS sub names are Revankar, Puthlekar,Ganvkar, Bhat, Shet, Rao. Bhandodkar, Achrekar,Shirodkar,Kolvekar,Kudalkar,Taggarse and Haladekar This mahajana system was once responsible for temple upkeep. The main festival is celebrated is SHIGMO.The festival of HOLI is called SHIGMO. Deepavali is celebrated with the lighting of Dheepastambhas in the temple.

Goan Temple is Known as Devul or Sanstan in the KONKANI Language. These temple were once the centres of villages , cities, and all the other social , cultural, and economic gatherings in GOA. This were known as a GRAMA SANSTAN.


 In this temple there is Lunch and accommodation only for people who have there family God as Vimaleshwara. Rooms are spacious  and well eqquipped with basic items to make you stay hot water facility and bed facilites very nicely maintained .

Monday - Sunday  :- 06.00 Am – 12.00 pm  Evening 04.00 pm – 8.30 pm   

Dress Code

The Vimaleshwar Temple does not impose any particular dress code for entering into the temple complex. However, one must wear decent clothes to the temple but if u want to enter Garbha Gudi while doing Shraavana pooja women should wear Nouvari Saree.. (normal saree is not allowed) and men should be in silk clothes like dhothis or panche.
